The Ambassador Hotel

Located in the Tenderloin in San Francisco, the Ambassador Hotel is an existing six-story building comprised of 134 single room occupancy (SRO) apartments. The historic building was constructed in 1911, rehabbed in 2003, and needed major structural and seismic rehabilitation as well as building system upgrades.  The Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation (TNDC) created a unique financing structure, creating a hybrid 4%/9% scattered site tax credit project with a neighboring property – the Ritz Hotel. Joy Dev Co joined the project management team near the end of construction and assisted TNDC staff with construction close-out and conversion.
